Established in May 1969, fully affiliated to the Karate Union of Great Britain. The KUGB is is by far the largest and most successful single-style association in Great Britain.
Handbridge Shotokan Karate Club is a Totally Non Profit making club where KUGB licensed members train under Sensei Michael O’Connor 7th Dan assisted by Sensei Dave Roberts 4th Dan and Sensei George Craggs 2nd Dan in a modern warm school gymnasium close to the city of Chester.
Sensei Michael O’Connor is also a KUGB Grading Examiner
We are always looking to encourage current and former karateka to come along. There is no membership fee and training costs only £5.00 per session. £4.00 for juniors, unemployed and students. We also have discounts for families.
If you wish to train with us regularly or just every now and then, please feel free to pop by.
New Starters and Beginners most welcome – first session is free. Why not come along and give it a try? Loose clothing should be worn e.g. jogging pants and T shirt.
